Posting a post!

For all you folks new to Blogger and working on posting lessons - here is a very brief review of how to post a plan:

Login to google or gmail, or blogger
If you logged in to something other than blogger, pick blogger off the choices at the top of the window, it may be in the big list of More
Pick the blog that you want to work with (most of you have just one choice here)

 Then pick to create a new post, or view or edit an existing post

You can copy and past content into the new blog post window - don't forget to name your post - or you can type directly in the window - which is what I am doing now.

When you are happy with your post you can publish it.  Or, if you are not done you can save it and come back another time to edit it and then publish it.

You can add images or insert links if you need to.  Here's the post we created about adding links in class.

How to make a link

To create a link:
Type the text that you want to act like a link.
Find the web page you want to link to
      if you know the address you'll be able type it in
      or you can copy and past from the address bar
Highlight the text that you want to link
Click on the Link tool
Type in or paste in the complete web address
Test the link to be sure it works
Choose if you want the link to open in a new page and if you want to set the nofollow attribute
Click ok
Voila. Un Link.

About the final project

Each participant will submit three lesson plans that take advantage of tools and resources you have worked with in this class.

You have some choice to make.  I would like everyone to use at least one board in Pinterest as part of one of their lessons.  You may create a board specifically for each lesson - this will simplify it if others need to "teach" your lesson.

I think it will be challenging to make a lesson and teacher instructions wholly contained on a Pinterest board, but it can be done if you are able to link to documents that you have "in the cloud"

I would also like you to use Blogger for at least one of your lessons, as a way to convey the structure or instructions, for example.  

Since you have three lessons to complete, you have a bit of flexibility in how you put them together, and if you find you prefer one means over the other, you can use it for the majority of the work.

Please email me with links to your three lessons by 2/15/13 

Kid Friendly Sites

Using the browser of your choice, and the search engine(s) of your choice, find at least three student friendly sites, with a variety of resources, that you would like to share with the group.

See if you can find at least one that suits your area of expertise, as well as one that is broader.

We'll take about 15 minutes to explore and then share.

Sorry - you can't use the same one we look at together first...
